Catholic Life of the School

We are a Catholic Primary School in the Archdiocese of Liverpool, clear in our beliefs and values, and the importance of Jesus Christ in the centre of our lives.

Our Mission Statement underpins everything that we do:

‘Loving God in all we do.’

St Anne’s is a place of love and learning, where we are all equal in the eyes of God and we cherish each and every individual.

Our Gospel Values are the values by which we live. These values are based on the teachings of Jesus and are a reference point for us as we navigate the world. Alongside these, we use the principles of Catholic Social Teaching to guide us as we seek to serve.

The fundamental British Values are not a different set of values. They are in fact, the same. We are proud of both our British Values and our Gospel Values and we are proud of the way in which our children bear witness to them every day.

This is how we live our Mission and put our faith into action:

We are:

  • Respectful

Humility, truth, honesty, dignity, politeness, keeping healthy, stewardship, sustainability, mutual respect, tolerance of different faiths and beliefs, global citizenship

  • Trustworthy

Truth, integrity, trust, honesty, individual liberty, rule of law

  • Resilient

Courage, perseverance, determination, hope, prayer, self-belief, excellence, solidarity, commitment, aspiration, individual liberty

  • Patient

Service to our neighbour; compassion, sacrifice, partnership, solidarity, example of Jesus, mutual respect

  • Forgiving

Reconciliation, compassion, justice, rule of law, mercy, love of Jesus, empathy, prayer, mutual respect, individual liberty

  • Welcoming

Positivity, sharing and celebrating success, love of Jesus, peacemakers, democracy, mutual respect, individual liberty.

Here are some examples of how we live out our mission in school and outside of school:

Supporting Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a coffee morning.

Our weekly celebration of the children who have lived out our Mission Statement ‘Loving God in all we do.’

By taking part in The Big Lent Walk and raising £164.

Supporting the work of CAFOD by listening to the work of their volunteers and raising money to support communities around the world.

Making a Jubilee Pledge as a school as we become Pilgrims of Hope.

At Christmas, the children embraced the spirit of giving by leading our Operation Christmas Child shoebox campaign. They helped to collect and prepare gifts, spreading joy and helping children and families around the world to experience the joy of Christmas.

Their commitment to serving others continued into the Spring term when the children created Easter hampers for families in our local community. They took great pride in thinking about others and putting their faith into action.

In the Summer term, Year One welcomed children from our nursery and toddler group to a second-hand book fair. The children enjoyed choosing a special book to take home, as well as sharing their love of reading by reading stories to our younger visitors. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to develop their confidence while sharing the joy of books with others.
